Lev Lev Educational Fund, Inc. ("Lev Lev," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of every family, donor, and visitor who interacts with us. This policy explains what information we collect through our website (levleveducationalfund.org), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
Our core promise: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Grant applications are treated with strict confidentiality and are never shared with your school, synagogue, or anyone in the community.
We only collect information that you choose to provide to us, plus limited technical data needed to operate the site securely. Specifically:
When you make a donation, we collect your name (unless you choose to give anonymously), email address, donation amount, and any optional dedication or message you include. Your payment card details are entered directly into our payment processor (Stripe) and are never seen, handled, or stored on our servers.
When you apply for tuition assistance, we collect the information you enter on the application form, including your name, email address, phone number, your child's school, the number of children applying, your household size, and your description of your financial circumstances. This information is sensitive, and we handle it with the strict confidentiality described in Section 4.
If you email us or contact us through the site, we retain your message and contact details so we can respond and keep a record of our correspondence.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure, reliable, and functioning properly.
We use the information we collect solely to carry out our charitable mission and to operate this website. This includes:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not engage in any automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
All donations are processed securely by Stripe, Inc., a leading PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you enter your card information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection.
We never see or store your card number. Lev Lev does not receive, process, or retain your full payment card details at any point. Stripe handles that information under its own strict security standards and privacy policy.
Stripe sends an official payment receipt to the email address you provide with your donation. We retain a record of the donation (name, email, amount, date, and any dedication) for accounting, tax-reporting, and acknowledgment purposes.
We understand that applying for tuition assistance requires sharing sensitive personal and financial details, and we treat that trust with the utmost seriousness.
Application form submissions are delivered to the board through a secure third-party form-delivery service and are received in the organization's protected email account (see Section 6).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
Our website relies on a small number of reputable third-party services to function. Each has its own privacy practices:
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites that we may link to. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
We keep tracking to a minimum. Our website does not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertising networks. Essential cookies or similar technologies may be used by our payment processor and host to keep the site secure and to process donations. We do not build advertising profiles about you or track you across other websites.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Donation and financial records are retained as long as required to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations as a nonprofit. Grant application information is retained for the period necessary to review, administer, and document the assistance provided. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information. Our website is served entirely over encrypted HTTPS connections, payment data is handled exclusively by our PCI-compliant processor, and access to sensitive information such as grant applications is limited to authorized board members.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is ever completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own discretion.
Our website and services are directed to parents, guardians, donors, and adults — not to children. Although our grants benefit children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, any information about a child is provided by the parent or guardian as part of an application. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
You are in control of your information. At any time, you may:
To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the website after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please reach out. We're here to help.
